Book Club

The book club has been running for some years. Headed by Carol, the group meet once a month. Each month a book is selected ranging from novels, old and new, historical and modern, from classics to biographies to factual. At the following month's meeting book's content, style, characterisation and plot is discussed over a glass of wine or two.

A lot of fun is had along with, occasionally, some quite heated debate.

Members have attended some of The Oldie Literary Lunches at Simpsons in the Strand, and BBC World Service Book Club events, and have enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

Whitby

The group organised a weekend outing to Whitby, staying in cottages. A great weekend was had with good food, wine and outings and two books were chosen for discussion over the weekend including, of course, Dracula. More of these outings are planned for 2005.
